Certified Technical Sales Specialist (CTS2)

To become certified an applicant must complete the following three phase process.

Phase I: Technical Sales Fundamentals
A)
Take the technical sales courses courses

B) Pass the technical sales fundamentals examination. It is a 50 question exam based on material taught in the eight motion control fundamentals courses.  This exam is offered during AiME sponsored conference programs.  Cost of the Phase I exam is $250 (USD) and is waived with a full track purchase.

Phase II: Credential Review
A)
You must meet the following education/work experience requirements:

  • at least 2 years of post high school education
  • at least 2 years of motion control experience
  • at least 8 years of combined education and experience

B) In addition to the education/work experience background, the applicant must submit the following for review:

  • A copy of the official transcript from the college or university where you received your highest degree
  • A personal assessment of your work record written by yourself
  • Any other indicators of technical competence
  • A letter from an individual verifying your experience claims

C) Cost for Phase II is $25 (USD)

Keep in mind that your credentials will be verified and reviewed by a committee and the final decision lies with them.

Upon successful completion of these two phases, a designation of CTS2 (Certified Technical Sales Specialist) will be presented in the form of an official certificate.  This credential remains in effect for three years after which time it is subject to recertification.  Records of your achievement will be maintained by AiME and will be verified upon request.  Recertification requires the credential holder to take 24 hours of appropriate technical instruction over a three year period.
