WHAT IS CERTIFICATION? |
Certification should not be confused with Professional Registration. Professional Registration is a licensing process conducted by individual states which grant to the engineer the right to practice
engineering in that state. It is generally designated in a broad area representing one of the traditional engineering disciplines. Motion Control certification on the other hand, is granted by the Association of
International Motion Engineers, denoting expertise in the specialty of motion control. It, however, holds no legal responsibility for either party, nor does it imply that you are an engineer. Is there any conflict
between Certification and Registration? None. Registered Professional Engineers are urged to become Certified to define their area of expertise, while Certified Motion Control Specialists are urged to take the
examination for registration as a Professional Engineer to obtain a legal license to practice engineering (registration requirements vary from state to state). |

The purpose of Certification is to document academic and practical experience in motion control. Certification also encourages you to upgrade skills and update knowledge so you can keep abreast of the

CREDIBILITY. It is vital to AiME that CMCS certification maintain its intended credibility by our insisting on high standards. Anyone obtaining certification should be
recognized as having been selected by your peers as having achieved special status in the motion control industry. |

- A wall certificate
- A wallet ID card
- A set of recertification forms and instructions

IS AiME MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED? |
No. A candidate does not have to be a member of AiME to become a Certified Motion Control Specialist or Certified Technical Sales Specialist. Certification does not automatically make you a member, and
membership does not mean you are certified. |
